My finger heart is amazing, I know!

I did however manage to go out for a fun filled night a few weeks ago with bf and his friends. He had just recently upgraded to the iPhone 4 so we(I) played around with the camera on it. I love that it lets you take photos of yourself and see the screen, but the quality takes a major drop. Bummer.

See what I mean about that photo quality? Just sucks, but oh well! Also, I love the bf looks like a huge doofus with a giant forehead in those first few pics, lols.

Mustard Mishap!

They love each other.

We had been at karaoke, but of course the boys got hungry, so we wound up at the local late night diner, The Satellite. I have spent far too many 2am nights there, scarfing down greasy beer batter fries. Luckily, I am able to offset their badness with a delicious vegetarian sandwich.

Nom nom nom. Does anyone else mix their ketchup and mustard together before dipping? I think it tastes like I am eating a hotdog when I do that. And not that I particularly enjoy the taste of hotdogs (well I am a pescatarian…) but I do LOVE the taste of nostalgia!

I got him this fun little book because he loves all kinds of beers and recently he has been getting really into brewing his own beer perhaps. I want to be okay with this, but because beer literally makes me feel sick (even though I love the taste and low alcohol content) and makes me put on poundage, I hope he doesn’t start brewing something I would want to drink!

He surprised me with some extra special gifts that I did not expect at all!

On our very first roadtrip together, we drove over to Seattle and then up to Bellingham. The drive back home from Bellingham is just about 6 hours long and I began getting restless and bored around hour 2, and I had already exhausted all my entertaining car activities on the way there. I began putzing around on bf’s iPhone and eventually decided to play a game of Sudoku. I didn’t really understand how the game worked and bf started taunting me, claiming that especially without even knowing how to play I probably wouldn’t do well. I showed him! I quickly beat all of his best times, and began beating them on the Expert level. By the time we were back home I was certified Sudoku master, much to bfs dismay. Also, I have a strange obsession with all things pink (making October my favorite month for a reason other than Halloween; it’s Breast Cancer Awareness month, so everything is all of a sudden sold in pink!), so even though bf couldn’t find any Cala Lilies (or apparently lilies of any kind) he opted for some beautiful pink roses : )

Penny then promptly knocked the flowers over and attempted to eat one! Silly puppy, bfs attempting to train her right now! It’s so sweet, I told him about the puppy pre-school we took my parents English Springer Spaniel to and he signed himself and Penelope up and he practices with her every day. It’s great.

Oh and speaking of 3s, today was day 3 of the 30 day shred and I have already dropped 2lbs! I am assuming that is just water weight, but I will take it!

Sadly for me, Kelly Osbourne looks amazing, as she has lost about 50 lbs. so when people compare us now I laugh and say “I wish!” Now that Kelly has slimmed down and stopped hiding behind all the black eyeliner and teen angst, you can see that she is a beautiful girl. I too have gone through the second half of that transformation, and am working hard on the first!

On loving who she sees today. “When I look in the mirror now, it’s really different. For the first time, I look at myself and I’m really proud to not hate every single thing that I see. What has made this process so healthy and interesting to me is that it’s been a whole transformation. It’s like this feeling disappeared that I had carried around with me for so long.”

All of her red carpet dresses are flattering and show that she still has curves, despite the weight loss, which is key.

And she even looks great in a bikini! This I am actually proud of her for. It’s no easy feat being bikini ready, and even though she is probably airbrushed, being in a magazine is embarassing!

But the best part of Kelly’s new look? She still knows how to tow the line between classy and trashy, which is the best thing we have in common! Check out her all sexxified for a performance with the Pussycat Dolls.

1. My “Legalize Gay: Repeal Prop 8 Now!” AA Shirt has arrived! I wore it around proudly all day, and had many people on campus stop me and ask me what it said. Granted, Prop 8 is long gone, but I took it as an opportunity to educate them about Washington state’s Senator Patty Murray’s recent appeal to congress to repeal ‘Don’t Ask Don’t Tell’ the military policy on gays openly serving.

2. I finally stretched my ears up to 9/16. At first when I began stretching my ears six years ago, I figured the biggest I would go would be a 0. Then last winter I wound up at a double 0. This fall, my friend Shanna offered me some beautiful wooden plugs with lotus flowers on them, that though they were 1/2, I couldn’t pass up. And now, the bf and I were at the same size and both wanted to move up, so we took the plunge together. I think I might only go up one more size–you don’t see many high school English teachers with giant gauges!

We got the jewelry and taper from a website bf knew of: Body Art Forms. The taper was free! I also got a solid gold nose hoop that I am really excited to put in. You get free o-rings, merch credits, tapers, and all sorts of other cool things just for ordering!

Mine are Coconut Wood. If you are new to gauging or just don’t know a whole lot about it, I highly suggest only using wood or glass plugs. Whenever I have used cheaper plastics and acrylics my ears have been much smellier (ewww). These were hand carved from organic materials (wood duh!) and only cost $18 for the pair! What a steal!

3. Ulta nail polishes! They have been running a promotion on all of their $5 nail colors, as well as salon brands Essie and China Glaze, buy 2 get 1 free!  I snatched up a Peach, Purple, Red, Green and a few Christmas gifts as well. Anyway, off to cook dinner! On the menu tonight: Cheese tortellini with mushrooms in a basil pesto alfredo sauce! But more on that tomorrow Oh also, I finished Day 2 of the shred, my muscles are aching, ughs!

My amazingly awesome friend Hannah (married and with a baby boy at 19, and quite easily the best teen mother in the entire city ((it’s real embarrassing what people considering ‘parenting’ in Spokane)) introduced me to this challenge. She first did it to lose her baby weight, and she claims it worked wonders. I have been trying to begin working out again, and I have joined a Yoga class for Spring Semester, as well as payed the $150 Fitness Center Fee, but that won’t get me in until January and I need results now! I am hoping to shed 7-10 lbs by December 31st. Hannah inspired me, and pushed me, to do a 30 day challenge of my own:

The DVD costs about $10 at Wal-Mart, and other drug stores, but since I am cheap and lazy, I just torrented a copy.

There are three levels of workouts on the DVD, and all you need is a yoga mat and light weights (I already had 5 lb hand weights so I use those, but I should be using 2 or 3 lb hand weights). You do Level 1 for 10 days, then Level 2 for 10 days, and finally Level 3 for 10 days. Each workout is 20 minutes long with a short 5-10 cool down afterward.

I have not worked out since August some time, so just that 30 minutes of Level 1 exercise was killer for me. However, I feel huge (I am ashamed to say I weigh 184 lbs) due to the amount of weight I put on while using the NuvaRing. I gained 15 lbs in 2 and half months.

Hannah and I are working to check in with each other and help each other stay on track, so that come New Years Eve we can show off our new bodies! And burn our SPANX! Sadly, I always forget I have a pair and never wear them haha. I probably should though, ughs.

(I say that alot, about alot of things. However, it is dead((before finals)) week, and I would like to remind my readers ((whoever you are)) that I have been taking 6 classes, working 2 jobs, observing at a Middle School once a week, and tutoring an 8th grader once a week, + I had a new boyfriend. The fact that I put on weight due to stress eating and the happiness of a new relationship is not a new concept to this blog or any female I know ha!)

Being that it is the week before finals, and I have about 7 or 8 papers/projects left to complete, on top of finishing up my middle school observation hours and my tutoring hours, plus working my two jobs, looking cute and dressing well have fallen to the bottom of the to do list. However, I refuse to wear sweats to class, but I am convinced that one can still be in half sleep wear and look cute!

Also, being that it is the first week of December, I figured modeling something that I would wear while sitting in the lodge drinking Bailey’s and hot cocoa after a long day of sledding would be appropriate ; )

However, I knew I had an American Apparel package on its way to me yesterday, so I did run over to check my mail box. I don’t know if you guys have heard of or use Groupon, but it’s this awesome coupon site with incredible deals, you should Check It Out!. Last week they had two amazing ones: buy a $50 American Apparel gift card for $25, and the same deal for Nordstrom Rack. This meant I spent $25 and got to spend $50 on anything on American Apparel’s website (excluding sale items). I picked out two pairs of thigh highs in Burnt Orange and Blue for $10 each, the Legalize Gay t-shirt in Pink for $17 (which is buy one get one free, so I think I might be offering my free one in a giveaway!!), and updated take on the white v-neck that Brian thought would fit my figure well. I went for the orange thigh highs first, and they are amazing! Super soft, great color, sex appeal at a high, great for layering (as you can see), and most importantly DURABLE (I tend to run any pair of tights I get my hands on).

I don’t agree with everything that goes on at American Apparel (see Dov Charney lawsuits), and word on the business street is they are going bankrupt (again due to Charney’s unwillingness to share), but I cannot deny the quality of the clothes. I have hoodies, v necks, tanks, skirts, and now tights, and I love them all! And the whole reason the deal was on Groupon in the first place is because the business is failing. I can’t argue with that!

So I have made multiple attempts at doing style files on this here blog, with little luck due to crappy cameras, no one to take photos of me, getting super busy, and loads of other excuses. Now that I am on Thanksgiving break, and I can see the light at the end of the Finals Week tunnel, I have renewed energy to get this blog back up on its feet. Expect a new layout, shop, etc!

I wanted to start yesterday with the whole taking outfit photos thing, but I am snowed in at the boyfriend’s apartment, where there are zero good indoor outfit spots, not to mention nowhere to set my camera. I resorted to using his Photobooth, so the photo quality is poor and also his vacuum cleaner, new flat screen tv, and for sale dining room table make cameos. Cluttered doesn’t even begin to describe his place right now.

Anywho, this is what I wore last night to see my friend Kevin Long play some songs!

Spokane is currently under a Stage 2 Storm Warning due to all the snow we have gotten in the last week. My parents are snowed in out in their neighborhood, but Brian was able to drive a couple blocks from the apartment downtown to get us coffees. Then again he has amazingly expensive snowtires. We have had 16 inches of snow drop on us in the last couple days. I took some pictures the first and second days of snow last weekend, I will try to post them later today! Knowing my luck, the streets will be plowed and the snow will have partially melted by the time I have to go back to work and school on Monday : (
